WHO WE ARE:
We are an Australian based tech start-up having been around for 3+ years. We have been featured in several key Australian business and mainstream media with our app and website concept that deals in the mobile marketing and mobile payment space.
Over the last 3 years we have always contracted our software development to external companies, however are now looking to build our own offshore development team and bring our software development in-house.
As such we’re setting up a new offshore company based in the Philippines under our existing company that will be able to both do our ongoing development, but also be able to function independently as its own software development and digital marketing company.
Selling its services both locally in the Philippines and in Australia.
THE ROLE:
As a part of this new company we’re initially recruiting 4 people to be a part of the software development team – 2 programmers, 1 UX designer, and 1 team lead (which is this role).
This role will see you overseeing and managing the development team as team lead.
This is a multi-faceted role that will see you being both hands on as well as overseeing a wide range of projects on both the front and back-end.
Whilst also providing mentorship and guidance to the rest of the tech team.
As the company grows there is opportunity for you to transition into a more CTO position, and potentially move to work with the team in Sydney Australia (If that’s what you wish).
We will also occasionally fly you into Australia to attend meetings with clients in situations where the salesperson requires technical support in answering clients’ and prospective clients’ questions.
WHAT’S REQUIRED:
- 8+ years software development experience gained across both websites and mobile apps
- Extensive Java, Objective C, PHP, MySQL knowledge
- Knowledge in Laravel PHP framework/Backbone.js/jQuery
- Experience in systems integration gained ideally at an enterprise level
- Ability to be forward looking and create scalable databases / systems
- A great attitude
- A strong work ethic
- A real passion for software development, technology, and creating great work
- A sense of creativity, problem solving ability, and entrepreneurship
WHAT WILL MAKE YOU STAND OUT:
- 3+ years as a tech lead, leading teams on the development of projects
- Knowledge in further languages such as HTML5, CSS, etc
- Extensive experience with various API’s including email and SMS gateways, social media, and payment / financial gateways
