This first job is to create some "audition" 2D character illustrations for me to choose from for execution in multiple poses as the helpful avatar in my web app.
The freelancer should be comfortable inventing a character and rendering a range of emotions, have a sense of humor, and like to have fun. (The app is aimed at students 13-23.)
My app (tiltonsalgebra.com) offers students encouragement and feedback via program-generated messages displayed next to a gesturing / emoting avatar, as if they were speaking to the student.
I had one human avatar executed a while ago (examples attached) and now it is time to diversify -- different genders, ethnicities (black, Asian, Hispanic) and maybe even a mascot like a dragon or rabbit or whatever.
There are just a few emotions -- correct, incorrect, explaining, doubtful, celebration -- and I would want at least two versions of each for variety.
This first job would be limited to generating several alternative "audition" characters with a disappointed look, as a PNG with a transparent background.
Any characters I like from this first job will lead to subsequent jobs to execute a dozen or so variants to cover all the emotions, for a negotiated fixed price with the exact number and kind of poses specified.
I think this will be a potentially big feature of my app and anticipate having dozens of avatars executed, possibly a different avatar for every school, so this could turn into a substantial engagement.
