I have a machine that a colleague reimaged for me yesterday with Windows Server 2008, but that was wrong - should have used Windows Server 2012 or Windows 8.1. My goal is to have a virtual image up and running with SharePoint 2013 with Update 2.1 and have that running by tomorrow (Sunday) afternoon. I have a VHDX I could use, but since we used Server 2008 instead of 2012, it isn't recognized. So I either need to set up a SharePoint VM that can run on Server 2008 (VirtualBox or Hyper-V is fine - as long as I can use it to connect to a client VPN) by tomorrow afternoon. The easiest way might be to get the VHDX to run on Server 2008, which I think is possible per this post - http://ift.tt/1o1x21S - but I have no idea how.
What I'm looking for is someone experienced to spend a few hours this weekend on and off guiding me through the process. Otherwise I'm afraid I'll end up worse off than I started.
