hello i need a text based chat app in which users can simply text people from their contact book,receiver will receive a notification of the msg received .
this is a very simple chat app ,you can use parse.com or pubnub.com for the backend work.
also I need that messages should self destruct themselves as per user selection.
you can use https://telegram.org/ this app ,they provide open source code so this will help you reduce the time.I only want text based messaging and everything else should be removed from telegram app.
